Meet Bruce Matzner! He is the Director of Business Strategy here at Ellis Island Capital.
– What do you do at EIC, Bruce?
I lead our Special Projects efforts. EIC has so many opportunities, it is important to concentrate our efforts on the best ones. Then, where appropriate, I help to make sure they are implemented well. I am also the primary interface with our India-based sales team.
– What’s the favorite part of your job?
I have worked largely by myself for the past 20 years. I really enjoy working with the EIC leadership team.
– What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I try to stay physically active. So every day after work I do something physical, tennis, work out, golf, etc.
– What’s your biggest screw up in the kitchen?
I will never forget when I was 12 or so, I was babysitting my little brother and sisters. I decided to make us French fries. Unfortunately, I thought all oil was the same, and cooked them in corn oil. The result was a gigantic, gooey, sticky inedible mess.
