Over the last few months, there have been some updates made to the EB-5 processing statistics. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) recently made updates to its statistical data to reflect information regarding I-526 petitions that were processed for quarter one of the 2019 financial year. The petitions processed were received mainly from October to December of 2018.
In quarter four of the 2018 fiscal year (October-December 2017), the Immigrant Investor Office (IPO) received 6,424 petitions and approved 13,571 petitions. This disparity in numbers is due to the fact that approximately 8,700 of the approved petitions were pending from the 2017 fiscal year. For quarters one through three of the 2019 fiscal (FY2019) a total of 3,003 petitions were received, with a petition approval of 3,303 – approximately 1,000 of which were rolled over from previous quarters.
A total of 13,070 petitions are currently pending, in great contrast to the number of pending applications at the end of FY2017, which came in at 24,992. The processing times for I-526 applications have increased moderately for the 2019 fiscal year, currently sitting at 22.5 months (up from 22.2 months in FY2018). Full breakdowns for the last ten years can be viewed via the USCIS I-526 Case Status 2008-2019.
